Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the ALSA ctxfi component where the
spdif passthru playback get resources() function uses atc->pll rate as the Reference Sample Rate (RSR) for the Master Sample Rate (MSR) calculation loop. Because pll rate is only updated in atc pll init() and not in hw pll init(), it remains 0 after card initialization. When spdif passthru playback setup() skips atc pll init() for 32000 Hz, the calculation (rsr * desc.msr) always results in 0, leading to an infinite loop.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
