Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the fbdev: defio component where deferred I/O was tied to the lifetime of struct fb info. This created a condition where a device hot-unplug could occur while user space maintained an active mapping of the graphics memory, leading to the freeing of the struct fb info instance. Subsequent memory access would then operate on an undefined state.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
