Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The free choose arg map() function may dereference a NULL pointer if its caller fails after a partial allocation. Specifically, in the decode choose args() function, if the allocation of arg map->args fails, execution jumps to a fail label, and free choose arg map() is called. Because arg map->size is updated to a non-zero value before memory allocation, free choose arg map() iterates over arg map->args and dereferences a NULL pointer. The issue is addressed by adding checks for pointers before iterating.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
