Description Two path traversal issues in the Network Installation Service (NIS) allow an unauthenticated network attacker to read package archive files and write arbitrary files to any writable location on the server filesystem. Path traversal is a technique that allows an attacker to access files and directories that are stored outside the web root folder. Because files can be written to web-accessible directories or used to overwrite configuration files and application binaries, this can lead to remote code execution within the context of the service account and the disclosure of deployment package contents.
