Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
SimpleBLE versions prior to 0.14.0
Description
SimpleBLE contains multiple stack-based buffer overflows, which occur when a program writes more data to a buffer located on the stack than the buffer is allocated to hold. One instance exists in the dongl backend's
Protocol::simpleble write() function via local, caller-controlled input. Additionally, two remote overflows occur during the processing of BLE advertisements: one when handling manufacturer-specific data and another when processing service data. These remote issues do not require pairing or a connection.Recommendations
