Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Snipe-IT versions prior to 8.4.1
Description
An authenticated user with generic asset edit permissions can delete files attached to assets regardless of ownership or company assignment. This is caused by an Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR), where the system performs authorization checks against the object class rather than the specific object instance. The issue affects the
destroy() function within the 'app/Http/Controllers/Api/UploadedFilesController.php' and 'app/Http/Controllers/UploadedFilesController.php' controllers.Recommendations
Update to version 8.4.1.
