Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the netdevsim component where the struct iphdr in a dummy sk buff is not properly initialized. This leads to a KMSAN uninit-value, which occurs when the kernel accesses memory that has been allocated but not initialized. The problem originates from the nsim dev trap skb build() function, where the allocation and the subsequent use of the uninitialized value occur.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
