VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An error pointer dereference exists in the USB Type-C subsystem. The cd321x update work() function checks if the tps->partner variable is an error pointer; however, if an error is detected, the system logs a warning but continues execution without returning. This leads to the subsequent dereferencing of the tps->partner variable within the typec partner set identity() function, which can cause a system crash.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
