Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A deadlock occurs in the
usbhid module when handling USB devices that combine a HID component with a storage or UAS component. Because these components must be reset together, the functions hid pre reset() and hid post reset() operate within block IO error handling. If memory allocations within these functions trigger block IO, a deadlock can occur on the mutex held during the device reset and the subsequent calls to interface drivers.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
