Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the dm-cache component where the dirty mapping check for passthrough mode is performed during table creation. This design assumes that table reload occurs after suspension; however, LVM table preload breaks this assumption. Consequently, the check may fail while metadata updates are ongoing, which risks loading dirty mappings into passthrough mode and can lead to data loss.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
