Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An error pointer dereference exists in the drm/sun4i backend. The function
drm atomic get plane state() can return an error pointer that is not properly checked before use. This can lead to a system crash when the sun4i backend atomic check() function dereferences the plane state variable while it contains an ERR PTR(), which is a special pointer value used by the kernel to indicate an error.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
