Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the s390 BPF JIT (Just-In-Time compiler), which is a component that translates BPF bytecode into native machine code for faster execution. The s390x ABI (Application Binary Interface) requires that unsigned arguments and return values be zero-extended, while signed ones be sign-extended. The implementation previously only performed sign extension, omitting the required zero extension for unsigned values.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
