Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A Use-After-Free (UAF) condition exists in the s390/ap component. When AP masks are updated through
apmask store() or aqmask store(), the function ap bus revise bindings() is executed after the ap attr mutex has been released. This subsequently triggers ap revise reserved(), which accesses the driver override field without a lock. This creates a race condition with a concurrent driver override store() operation that may free the old string while it is being accessed.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
