VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the network PHY subsystem where the sfp bus del upstream() function is not called during a probe failure path. This results in the sfp-bus retaining a dangling upstream field, which may be incorrectly accessed during subsequent SFP events. This behavior was present both in the generic phylib SFP support and in earlier versions where drivers invoked phy sfp probe() directly.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
