Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A failure to unlock the parent directory occurs in the nfsd4 create file() function. This happens when the NFSD exports a filesystem using atomic create() and that function returns an error. In such cases, dentry create() may return an error pointer instead of a valid dentry, which is then passed to end creating(), preventing the parent from being unlocked. The issue is addressed by ensuring dentry create() always provides a valid dentry in path->dentry.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
