Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the mailbox-test component where a double-free occurs during the process of freeing channels. This happens because the RX channel can be aliased to the TX channel if it has a different Memory-Mapped I/O (MMIO), which is a method for the CPU to access hardware devices. This special case was not properly handled, leading to the potential for the same memory to be freed twice.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
