Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the usb typec ps883x component where a kernel NULL pointer dereference occurs during device unbinding. This happens because the
ps883x retimer remove() function attempts to retrieve driver data using i2c get clientdata(), but this data was not previously established during the probe process. This can lead to a kernel Oops when a user attempts to unbind a device to bind it to vfio-platform.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
