Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the ARM architecture implementation where the
switch to() function performs a dummy read from the KASAN VMAP stack shadow using the ldr instruction. Because the KASAN shadow address is byte-granular and not guaranteed to be word aligned, ARMv5 systems may trigger an alignment exception, leading to a system crash before initialization. This occurs specifically when CONFIG KASAN VMALLOC and CONFIG VMAP STACK are enabled.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
