Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
GStreamer (affected versions not specified)
Description
A stack buffer overflow occurs in the DTLS plugin during a DTLS handshake. The issue arises when the peer certificate Subject Distinguished Name is printed into a fixed-size 2048-byte stack buffer without proper bounds checking. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger a process crash and denial of service by sending a certificate with an oversized Subject DN. This flaw is located within the
openssl verify callback() function.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
