Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ImageMagick versions prior to 7.1.2-19
Description A heap buffer overflow occurs during the magnify operation. This issue is triggered when an unrecognized value is provided to the magnify:method, allowing an attacker to perform an out-of-bounds read. This could lead to the exposure of sensitive information or cause a denial of service. A heap buffer overflow is a condition where a program writes more data to a heap-allocated memory block than it can hold, potentially corrupting memory.
Recommendations Update to version 7.1.2-19 or later.
