Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A crash occurs during the initialization of the first serial port in the DECstation DZ serial driver. The issue is caused by a null pointer dereference when the system attempts to access the port's parent device. This occurs because the driver uses legacy probing, which fails to provide a valid parent device. The crash is triggered within the
dev fwnode() function, called by serial base ctrl add(), during the dz init() process.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
