Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An out-of-bounds read exists in the Linux kernel within the drm/amd/display component. The GPIO pin table parsers in the get gpio i2c info() and bios parser get gpio pin info() functions calculate an element count based on the structuresize field of the VBIOS table header. Because the system only validates that the header fits within the BIOS image and not the entire reported size, a VBIOS reporting a structuresize larger than the actual mapped data can cause the loop to read past the end of the BIOS image.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
