Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the test kprobes component where kprobes and kretprobes defined as static variables are not properly cleared between test runs. This causes subsequent registrations via the register kprobe() function to fail and can eventually lead to a kernel crash due to leftover data in the address and flags fields. The problem occurs when the sanity tests are executed more than once, as the leftover data from a previous run interferes with the registration process in the next run.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
