Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions libcupsfilters (affected versions not specified) cups-filters (affected versions not specified) Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the PNG image reading function of libcupsfilters and cups-filters. The function creates a libpng reader without installing an error recovery handler, which causes the CUPS image filter process to abort when it encounters a malformed PNG file. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by submitting a specially crafted PNG print job, resulting in a denial of service for the print job currently being processed.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
