Description A path traversal flaw exists in the Public Folder Handler component within the http sendfile2() function of the lib/facil/http/http.c file. This issue allows remote attackers to perform manipulations that lead to unauthorized access to files outside the intended directory. Path traversal is a technique used to access files and directories that are stored outside the web root folder by manipulating variables such as file paths.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of the http sendfile2() function to minimize the risk of exploitation.
