Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the net/mlx5e component where writing to the ICOSQ (Interrupt Coalescing Send Queue) is performed without proper locking during a NAPI poll when affinity changes and XSK (AF XDP socket) work remains. This leads to race conditions in two scenarios: when
mlx5e trigger irq() is called while mlx5e xsk alloc rx mpwqe() is running on a different CPU, or when mlx5e trigger irq() is called while mlx5e trigger napi icosq() is executing. This issue has been observed in real-world incidents resulting in bad operation errors in the ICOSQ CQE.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
