Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A use-after-free issue exists in the
fb find mode() function within the fbdev modedb component. When the mode option is NULL, it is assigned the value of mode option buf. The mode option buf is subsequently freed using kfree() while the name variable, which aliases mode option buf, is still being accessed by the name matches() function. A use-after-free occurs when a program continues to use a pointer after the memory it points to has been freed.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
