Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the SMB2 client where the
smb2 calc size() function clears data length during overlap handling. This behavior can cause an invalid response to be incorrectly identified as having no data area, allowing it to qualify for an implied bcc[0] length exception. This occurs because the system fails to track data area overlap separately before applying length compatibility exceptions.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
