Description The Elan I2C touchpad driver contains issues related to how it processes physical dimensions and trace counts. If the device firmware or device tree provides zero values for the x traces or y traces variables, a division-by-zero exception occurs, leading to a kernel panic during the device probe process. Furthermore, an arithmetic underflow exists in the touch reporting logic; if the calculated or fallback width is less than the ETP FWIDTH REDUCE constant (90), the subtraction operation underflows, causing a large unsigned integer to be reported to userspace.
