Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the KVM x86 module where fastpath userspace exits may occur before the vendor's exit handler runs. This prevents KVM from executing vendor-specific operations required before userspace gains control of the vCPU. For example, in VMX, the PML (Page Modification Logging) buffer—a mechanism used to track modified pages—must be flushed before exiting to userspace; otherwise, memory written during the final
KVM RUN may not be flagged as dirty.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
