Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the page ext iteration API where the system fails to validate if the Page Frame Number (PFN) still belongs to a valid section while advancing the iterator. During memory hotplug operations, the for each page ext() macro calls the page ext iter next() function, which can increment the iter->index beyond the pgcount limit. This leads to a call to page ext lookup() with an invalid PFN that may belong to an uninitialized section, resulting in a NULL pointer dereference.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
