Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the digi acceleport USB serial driver where the digi write inb command() function fails to correctly handle timeouts. Instead of returning an error when a write URB (USB Request Block) becomes unavailable, the function updates the transfer buffer and attempts to resubmit the URB. Additionally, for commands such as break control that do not utilize a timeout, a flawed jiffies comparison can lead to immediate URB corruption, which on 32-bit systems may trigger after five minutes of uptime due to INITIAL JIFFIES.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
