Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
uss720 probe() function where a parport is registered before reading the 1284 register used to detect unsupported Belkin F5U002 adapters. If the get 1284 register() function fails, the error path releases the driver private data and the USB device reference but fails to unregister the parport device. This results in a reserved parport number and a registered parport bus device where pp->private data points to released private data, creating a stale pointer.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
