Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the s390 architecture where the
load unaligned zeropad() function reads eight bytes from unaligned addresses, which may cross page boundaries. While the function handles exceptions that occur when reading from a second page, the do secure storage access() exception handler fails to correctly process these exceptions for pages donated to the Ultravisor for secure execution. This failure can lead to an infinite exception loop that cannot be resolved.Recommendations
As a temporary workaround, disable the
load unaligned zeropad() function until a complete fix for secure storage access exceptions is implemented.Exploit
