Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
io uring/io-wq component where the io worker handle work() function fails to properly re-check the IO WQ BIT EXIT bit for each item in a dependent linked-work chain. If io wq exit start() sets IO WQ BIT EXIT after the first linked item has started, subsequent linked items may use a stale do kill = false value. This allows them to skip IO WQ WORK CANCEL and continue executing even after the exit process has begun.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
