Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A NULL pointer dereference exists in the func set flag() function. The issue occurs when the function dereferences the tr->current trace flags variable before verifying if the active tracer is the function tracer. If the active tracer has been switched to another tracer, such as wakeup rt, the tr->current trace flags variable becomes NULL, resulting in a kernel crash. This can be triggered when a process opens a function tracer option file and subsequently writes to it after the tracer has been switched.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
