Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A NULL pointer dereference can occur in the ACPI NFIT core. The acpi nfit probe() function installs an ACPI notify handler for the NFIT device before verifying the presence of the NFIT table. If the table is missing, the acpi desc object is not allocated and the driver data pointer for the NFIT device is not set. If the platform firmware triggers an NFIT NOTIFY UC MEMORY ERROR notification during this state, the acpi nfit uc error notify() function will dereference a NULL pointer.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
