Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the drm/hyperv component where a
SYNTHVID RESOLUTION RESPONSE containing a resolution count greater than 64 causes the parse loop to read beyond the boundaries of the supported resolution[SYNTHVID MAX RESOLUTION COUNT] array. Additionally, when the WIN10 resolution probe fails, the hyperv connect vsp() function fails to populate hv->screen * max and preferred * variables. This results in mode config.max width and max height being set to 0, causing the drm internal framebuffer create() function to reject all userspace framebuffers with an -EINVAL error.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
