Description Improper access control in the IRP MJ WRITE command interface allows a local, unprivileged attacker to achieve local privilege escalation to NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM. This can be used to extract credentials from PPL-protected lsass.exe and terminate PPL-protected security processes. PPL (Protected Process Light) is a security feature that prevents non-protected processes from accessing or modifying the memory of critical system processes.
