Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the ethernet arc emac driver where the system fails to quiesce interrupts before requesting an IRQ. Hardware may retain stale or latched interrupt status from firmware or the bootloader. If the probe process unwinds after the
devm request irq() function has installed the handler, a stale interrupt can reach the arc emac intr() function during teardown, creating a race condition with the release of the associated net device.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
