Description Unnumbered Disconnect (U DISC) and malformed Aviation Very High Frequency Link Control frames can terminate sessions. This results in a loss of Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) functions, which forces a reversion to voice communication and increases the workload for controllers. This issue can be exploited remotely via radio frequency.
