Description A kernel BUG occurs during driver unload due to an invalid state transition in the ice driver. When a Physical Function (PF) reset happens while the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) state is ICE PTP UNINIT, the ice ptp rebuild() function incorrectly updates the state to ICE PTP ERROR. This sequence leads to a call trace during the PTP release process, specifically involving the ice ptp release(), ice deinit features(), and ice remove() functions. This issue was observed when passing PF1 to a virtual machine, causing ice ptp init() to fail because the ctrl pf variable is NULL.
