Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the radio-si476x media component where the si476x radio probe() function registers radio->v4l2dev before allocating V4L2 controls and registering the video device. If these subsequent steps fail, the probe process returns through an exit label that only frees the control handler. Because a failed probe does not trigger si476x radio remove(), the v4l2 device unregister() function is never called, resulting in a leaked parent device reference originally taken by v4l2 device register() on the error path.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
