Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the USB serial io edgeport component where the edge interrupt callback() function adds a 16-bit value to txCredits without verifying it against maxTxCredits. Because edge write() calculates available space based on txCredits and the software FIFO is allocated with maxTxCredits bytes, values exceeding this limit can lead to an out-of-bounds (OOB) write in the ring buffer. An OOB write occurs when data is written outside the intended memory boundary of a buffer.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
