Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OP-TEE OS versions prior to 4.10.0 commit 0aadfc2
Description A null pointer dereference occurs in the Widevine pseudo-TA open session handler when CFG WIDEVINE PTA is enabled. Normal World clients can trigger this by opening a session directly on the Widevine PTA, leading to an unconditional dereference of a NULL calling session pointer through the is user ta ctx() function. This results in a fault at S-EL1, causing a denial of service by crashing the trusted execution environment (TEE), which is a secure area of the main processor used to protect sensitive data.
Recommendations Update to the version containing commit 0aadfc2. As a temporary mitigation, disable the CFG WIDEVINE PTA configuration.
