Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A race condition exists in the
drm/dp mst component. A hotplug or link-loss event can tear down the MST (Multi-Stream Transport) topology by setting mgr->mst state to false and mgr->mst primary to NULL while a caller is invoking the drm dp mst topology queue probe() function. This occurs because the topology may be valid when the function call is initiated but is torn down before the mgr->lock is acquired. This issue leads to spurious kernel warnings and compositor crashes during the connection or disconnection of DP MST monitors.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
