Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists where the kernel performs a NULL function pointer dereference on Denverton (DNV), Ice Lake Xeon D (ICX-D/CDF), or Snowridge (SNR) platforms. This occurs because the
mid8250 probe() and mid8250 remove() functions unconditionally dereference setup and exit callbacks that were set to NULL, leading to a kernel oops (a system crash or error caused by the kernel attempting to access an invalid memory address).Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
