Description A heap overflow occurs in the txgbe read eeprom hostif() function when reading the module EEPROM. The function copies round up(length, 4) bytes into a buffer allocated by ethtool with exactly length bytes. If the length variable is not 4-aligned, it results in an out-of-bounds write.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
