Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions CamaleonCMS version 2.9.1
Description Authenticated administrators can execute arbitrary commands via a server-side template injection. This occurs when ERB tags are embedded in the email parameter of the test email settings endpoint. If an SMTP rejection reflects the recipient address back in the exception message, the Rails inline template renderer evaluates the attacker-controlled Ruby code, leading to command execution as the Rails process user.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. Avoid using the email parameter in the test email settings endpoint until the issue is resolved.
