Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions LXD (affected versions not specified)
Description A path traversal vulnerability exists during backup import and restore operations. The issue occurs because the software fails to validate instance and storage volume names within the archive metadata. An attacker can use a crafted backup archive containing path traversal sequences in these names to access or overwrite files outside the intended restore directory. Path traversal is a technique used to access files and directories that are stored outside the web root folder by manipulating variables such as file paths.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
